Psychiatric Emergency Services
Psychiatric emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year for anyone in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, an acute episode of mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder, in Sitka or Yakutat. We offer crisis intervention, stabilization, and evaluation for referrals to crisis care facilities, emergency shelters, and hospitals. Our goal is to help the individual in crisis remain in the community by avoiding an unnecessary hospitalization or removal from the person's home. We also provide follow-up support as needed. Our emergency clinicians work collaboratively with the Emergency Department at Sitka Community Hospital, SEARHC, and Sitka Police Department, as well as other community resources.

Individuals and clients can access psychiatric emergency services anytime by contacting staff at Sitka Community Hospital who will page the on-call clinician.
